Zelda: Skyward Swordby *Bekalou

Zelda from the Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword.

Relatively quick project, but it’s certainly cute and comfortable. The wig is styled by me with sea-green grosgrain ribbon and pink satin ribbon.

The sailcloth is made of ivory antique satin, with the Loftwing design sponge-painted on the back in acrylic paint.

The dress is made of pink moire, lined in bone-colored lightweight satin, and detailed with satin-stitching in a variegated turquoise-gold-pink thread; also with a glass rhombus piece attached to the front of the dress.

I made the belt by linking flat metal discs stamped with a Gregorian-like knot motif. The sash is leather-like moleskin, detailed with gold fringe, turquoise trim, and a handmade brooch out of Sculpey clay and another glass rhombus. The flag is made of light blue antique satin with the Loftwing design appliqued in ivory antique satin. The brown suede boots and green bangles are bought.

The harp is made of hardwood poplar, with the bird design etched out of raised Paperclay. The strings are guitar strings, which are threaded into holes bored into the wood.

If you don't mind me asking, how did you get the ribbons to stay so nicely? I keep trying to tie ribbons on my Zelda wig and they keep unraveling >w<;;

To be totally honest, I just hot-glued them into the wig. I figured I wouldn't use this wig for any other character so the ribbons are permanently attached

Holy cow, so you literally glued the ribbons onto the wig? D: Well, that explains why they stay so perfectly! Unfortunately I'll be re-using the wig, so that's out of the question.

Do you have any ideas on how I could keep them in place without damaging the wig?

Hmm, perhaps what you could do is attach little clear rubber bands to the ribbons which will help hold the hair in place? You can buy tiny clear rubber bands at beauty/hair supply stores, and they may keep your ribbons from unraveling
