[EDIT 1/13] - This piece won 2nd Place in the Sac-Anime Digital Art contest!

So this is the FMA fan art I've been working on for the last couple of weeks. I'm very pleased with the painting but I think the composition is a bit boring. Al's metallic paint job took me a whopping 13 hours - which I completed in one day (well, two, if you count that I was up into the wee hours of the morning the next day...). Ed took me 9 hours.

Anyhow, this is a little more digitally composed than I usually do, and if I do a piece like this again I'll put a little more thought (and spread out my working time) into how it looks together.

I love how Al's reflection came out, though.

Good goddamn, that's cool. I feel so bad for Al. ;_; The composition *is* a little blah (the reflection of little!Al is the coolest part of the picture, but it steals any dynamic-ness Al's pose might have had), but you make up for it with the painterly feel of the picture. And Ed's awesome clothing folds.

Very nicely done! I really like the way you imposed the rendering of Al within the armor. The pose captures much of what FM is all about. Definitely a favorite.

Whoa!!! O.O You are AMAZING! I love the dramatic feeling that this picture emanates, and after looking through some of your gallery, most emanate, but I had to come back to this one. It was just too brilliant. The colors are bright and powerful. The poses, just right for the entire feel of the picture.

Overall, this is fantastic and it deserves so much more than than just my comment and

Ah, thank you! I really was going for a certain intensity and I'm fairly happy with the overall product. I'm hoping to do some more FMA fan art in the future, too.
