Ciel Phantomhive: Piano Lessonby *Bekalou

Ciel Phantomhive from Kuroshitsuji, Carousel illustration variant.

This was a pet project of mine, so it was important to me to use ideal materials as much as I could. The entire outfit is handmade by me.

The hat is made from scratch from heavyweight fusible stabilizer and carefully covered with black velvet. The hat sash is gold silk dupioni, embellished with a rhinestone buckle and natural ostrich feathers. The hat also has bias binding in blue-grey silk dupioni to match the coat.

The coat is made of silk dupioni in a deep and rare blue-grey color. The coat features faux pocket flaps, silver baroque-design shank buttons, a black and gold silk rosette, and cuffs made of red embossed moleskin trimmed in a self-designed fine deep crimson velvet applique and embellished with brass half-ball buttons. The jacket is fully lined in black silk charmeuse.

The vest is also made of red embossed moleskin and lined in black silk charmeuse. The front of the vest features a self-designed crimson velvet applique and brass half-ball buttons.

The shorts are made of the same blue-grey silk as the jacket, have a hidden hem, and are embellished with a gold tassel and metal ring.

The spats are self-patterned and custom-fitted, made of red embossed moleskin and crimson velvet to match the jacket cuffs and vest.

The jacket, vest, and spats are all trimmed in handmade gold silk dupioni piping which is hand-beaded with Swarovski crystal bicones and gold glass seed beads. All of the crimson velvet appliques are edge-beaded with deep red glass seed beads. The jacket and shorts also feature chains of Swarovski crystal bicones, Swarovski crystal pearls, and gold glass seed beads. Approximately 12,000 beads are used in the entirety of this costume.

I have a contact here (juunana) who does Ciel. She is a nice young lady was one of the first people who added me as a contact. She used one of my photographs as a backdrop to her work. While not a fan of Cosplay (don't know much about it), I respect the time and effort you put in to this type of work. The outfit is amazing and the photograph and pose are well done. This is very nice!
